The Hustlers star said that referencing to swimming lessons, "There's a lot of me in there and my experiences with love, depression and anxiety." She explained "It seems almost contradictory to be like,'yeah I like to my life private (her semi-permeable relationship with Cole Sprouse) and then publish a book about poems of love".

she clearly states that the poems are not an autobiography of her but are fictions for the most part. But she claims that the poems express how deeply she has felt love and loss but does not you anything about a relationship she has had.
